Wearing skirts is something that all women love to do, as it is the epitome of being feminine. You feel beautiful, elegant and sophisticated in a skirt and such a feeling is sometimes so hard to find in today’s modern society. But finding a skirt that looks good is the first step to feeling great in your skirt; so, know your body shape and then you will know your skirt.

Nearly all skirts suit those lucky ladies with an hourglass figure. This body is what skirts are designed for, due to the natural tightness of the waist and the curve of the hips and derriere. You would be hard pressed to find a skirt that did not look good on an hourglass figure. However, the ultimate skirt for you ladies is the pencil skirt. It hugs the waist and hips and emphasizes the curvy nature of your body. In fact pencil skirts are quite effective on most body shapes. Even if you do not have curves, it creates the illusion of them due to the cut of the skirt.

Pear-shaped bodies are blessed this year with the return of A-line skirts. They snugly fit on the waist but then skim your hips and thighs (that you don’t want to be hugged at all)! So this is an ideal skirt that is also now highly fashionable, and when they stop mid-knee, it gives the impression of slim calves and tiny ankles- every woman’s dream.

Finally do not be deterred if you have a boyish figure because help is at hand to make your figure look as effeminate as an hourglass figure. Tulip-shaped skirts are fantastic for straight up and down figures as they create curves with the cut of the fabric. They are nipped in at the waist, balloon out and then back in at just above the knee. This creates a silhouette of an hourglass figure and will make you feel totally gorgeous as you waltz around as if you possessed the ideal figure.
