Paul Costelloe – LFW – Friday 16th September 2011

Squeezing into the show space, rapidly filling, the lights are dimmed and soft music is introduced for the first look. Donning the catwalk Costello’s collection boasted beautiful soft fabrics for pleated suits, with pocketing detailed jackets.

The trend of soft grey and taupe hues were a key feature of his garments using this to accentuate a ‘fairy-tale’ like trend, producing loose fitting fabrics and ruffled collars. The key garment that stood out amongst this collection was a gorgeous silk cape dress, low of the shoulder with a bow at the back to keep with the theme.

The collection featured golds and soft dusty pinks and added a flash of inspriation with a monotone striped cloak addition. The collection developed beautifully through the structured trends, feminine cuts and dainty pleating.
The menswear featured very strong colours such as jewel and berry colours crossing over from womens trends in gentle linen, long line suit jackets and a laid back look.

Overall the strong point for this collection was the soft, romantic look for the women’s dresses- the subtle tailoring really made a perfect look flirtatious and modern Costelloe’s collection continued to expand these trends and step into more daring space with the strong colours.
