London Fashion Week – Issa London

22-02-2012

The collection was introduced with tunics and low cut v-neck dresses layered over leggings making the print on print look another winner for next season. Considering the inspiration behind this collection ,there was something very seventies about it, in particular the use of bell sleeves and head scarves. But not departing hugely from her true style, Issa kept to her seasonal regulars of long maxi gowns; but this season bringing in lace as a key fabric. The collection had a nice progression to it; the prints were just suggesting what Issa is capable of and it was refreshing to see some wool capes and cardigans compliment the print which remained a constant theme throughout.

Perhaps most unexpected from Issa, was her take on a popular trend for Spring/Summer – the jazz era. The closing looks brought this collection to a climax with flapper style dresses with plenty of fringing and sequins to even make Daisy Buchanon jealous. Although Issa knows the look that sells for her, there was sparkle to this collection which will have the front row, including actress Gemma Arterton in awe. One thing is for sure, Issa will keep us elegant.
