Guava Shoes and Valentim Quaresma – Showroom Visit – Lisbon

Stepping into the showroom which is a shared spaced with the Alpha Romeo showroom in Lisbon the first thing you see is a corkboard covered in fashion images which relate directly to the new collection’s colours.
Guava Shoes is a Portuguese brand, rapidly expanding into global markets including sales in the USA and across Europe. The designs are driven by architectural inspirations and bold colour ranges.
The shoes themselves are created with funky, edgy heel shapes and with extremely comfortable soles to accommodate younger and more mature markets.
The shapes of the colour pop heels, contrasting with the popular teal uppers is a recipe for success.

Valentim Quaresma creates gorgeous jewellery from reclaimed and scrap metal items. We first became aware of Valentim’s work last season at ModaLisboa where he showed incredible, metal headwear that looked like a cross between Mordor and Couture which was utterly captivating.
In the showroom the creations are a mix of up-cycling and sculpture. Reclaimed pocket watches sit alongside chains, nails and excess safety pins. Custom cut acrylic shapes are currently selling on the website for just 70 Euros – seeing how much work goes on behind the scenes the pieces could sell for double!
