Primark Joins the Online Revolution Via ASOS.com

 

Budget brand Primark has teamed up with successful online retailer ASOS to trial out online sales from a small selection of its current collection. The initial range consists of 20 womenswear products, ranging from a £6 pound T-shirt, to a £22 pound studded parka, and features other summer staples including dresses and denim designs.

 

British Talent at Marc Jacobs

 

Luella Bartley has been appointed Design Director at Marc Jacobs and Katie Hillier as Creative Director at the Marc by Marc Jacobs line. Jacobs told WWD that he is excited to be working with the British duo and hopes that their fresh creative energy will strengthen and take the brand forward.

 

CFDA Awards

 

Proenza Schouler bagged the top ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year Award 2013’ at the Council of Fashion Designers of America in New York earlier this week. Others that gained recognition at the ceremony included: Menswear Designer of the Year went to Thom Browne, Accessories Designer of the Year to 3.1 Phillip Lim, Vera Wang was presented with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award and Oscar de la Renta was presented with the Founder’s Award in honour of Eleanor Lambert by Secretary Hilary Clinton.

 

Viktor & Rolf Menswear No Show

 

Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf have announced that they will not be showing their latest menswear collection in Paris this season so that they can fully concentrate on their couture show comeback. The label dropped off the couture schedule 13 years ago but stated in April that they would make a return to the couture calendar this July.

 

Fashion East Men

 

Liam Hodges, Kit Neale, Joseph Turvey and Tom Ryling are the four menswear designers named to show under the Fashion East umbrella at London Collections: Men later this month. The foursome will present their work at the talent scheme’s Menswear Installations event on June 18, alongside Meadham Kirchhoff.
