The androgynous white suit has catapulted the new designer in to the media spotlight when the former Pussycat Doll, Kimberly, showed it off at the star-studded premiere of the blockbuster film featuring celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Matthew Fox.
The suit, which features a low neckline and tailored cummerbund-style panel around the waist, won praise in the media for being ‘chic’ and ‘sultry’. Despite the A-List guestlist at the premiere, Jisselle’s personalised creation, as the Daily Mail wrote, ‘ensured all eyes were on her [Kimberly] in the racy outfit’ and that it ‘made sure that she stole some of the limelight for herself’.
Jisselle, from New Cross, London, said: “It’s been so exciting and overwhelming. I couldn’t believe it was real at first, but it was incredible to see her wearing it at such a high profile event.”
Jisselle’s design was selected from her final year collection by Kimberly’s stylist at the Middlesex University fashion show. She then attended a fitting with the star and created a tailored made version for Kimberly.
“I didn’t have a lot of time to make the tailored version for Kimberly, so I worked long hours on it, but it was definitely worth it. Kimberly was very nice and I wanted her to feel comfortable in the outfit. I’m really pleased with the result and it’s been amazing to see the positive media coverage of it,” added Jisselle.
Jisselle hopes to work for a Paris fashion house in the future and has her sights set on Chanel or Christian Dior.
