Working with renowned artist Hirst, who is best known for his controversial diamond studded skull artwork back in 2007 and most recently his designs for the Olsen twins label The Row, a limited edition collection of crocodile backpacks, which retailed at around $55,000 in 2012.
Mcqueen’s creative director Sarah Burton, chose the English artist due to his and the labels shared visions, commenting “in which an interest in symmetrical design is combined with strong references to the natural world.”
The new designs will be inspired by Damien’s ‘Entomology’ series, which was made up of bugs, insects and geometric designs and patterns. The scarves will be available in a range of different materials including chiffon, twill or cashmere.
They will hit stores and online in November, retailing from £315.
