Oxford Street Teams Up With London Fashion Week

Celebrating the very best of London’s designers during London Fashion Week, what better time then to hold a “fashion extravaganza” of an event as described by Trace Tyrell, New West End Company campaign director.
The event will be spread out over 17 days, and kick off from September 1st. You can expect an event full of pop-up parties, in-store styling sessions, fashion career mentoring and guest celebrity DJs. As for decorations, you can get into the true fashion spirit to hear that the 75 flags hanging from Selfridges will be replaced by the designs of London based labels. On the streets of Oxford Street 12 foot canvas’ will be hung displaying AW13 catwalk photos from British labels, House of Holland, Matthew Williamson, Topshop Unique, Giles and Alice and Temperley.

Major retailers on Oxford street; Topshop, H&M, Selfridges, John Lewis, River Island, Gap and House of Fraser will celebrate the new collaboration with British Fashion Council over London Fashion Week in September.
The UK’s busiest location to shop has come under some tough competition lately, within indoor shopping centres such as Stratford’s Westfield have recently put up some tough competition to attract customers, however this celebration is set to attract around 12 million shoppers during September alone.
British Fashion Council CEO Caroline Rush commented that upcoming event was at the perfect timing to host a celebration of London’s shopping destination hosted during London Fashion Week.
Trace Tyrell then went on to comment further that the partnership would be “a major moment for Oxford Street.” Saying it would give the street of iconic status the opportunity to really showcase and broadcasts the world its true fashion credibility.
