LFW S/S 14 Fyodor Golan

“Exploring the idea of modern dressing through an active lifestyle,” the duo drew on inspiration from their journey to their studio everyday, where they cross over the Thames by the Waterloo Bridge, passing cyclists and runners on their way.
The collection explores the complexity of motorcycle wear and “contradicts the traditional perspective of sportswear luxe”, featuring a palette of bright yellow, pastel pink, baby blue, mint and nude.
Starting on a tough note with broad shouldered motorcycle jackets in gold and white, worn by models with greased back hair and hot pink lips, soon gave way to a more relaxed feel with a nod to their collaboration with Smiley, puncturing the more serious side of the show as skirts hemmed with smiley face discs as well as a bandeau beaded with them featured, giving a 90s urban rave feel to the pieces.

Sweatshirts with larger-than-life ‘FG’ print ended the era and led in to a more delicate side to the show, with lighter fabrics featuring a rainbow palette splashed across ostrich feathers, beaded embroidery and accordion pleated dresses and jackets.
As the summer comes to a crashing close, it’s hard to believe in garments that scream for sunnier days, but Fyodor Golan managed to evoke a mood that was desperately needed on a grey, London morning.
