Jeremy Scott For Moschino

jeremy-scott-swatch-00The designer who is known for his unique, fun twist on fashion is clearly delighted at his latest venture sharing his delight via an announcement from his twitter account. Speaking on his latest fashion venture Scott commented on how the he and the brand were perfect match, “we both share an obsession with poking fun at fashion, it’s one of the few houses that has humour.” The LA-based designer who said he get inspiration from pop and trash culture is known for his renowned winged trainers has created outfits for the likes of Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus.

It’s a big step for the designer, who began as an Moschino intern in the press head office during his last year of college, until progressing into his own brand. With no plans to quit his own label, the designer will continue to design for his namesake label, which launched in 1997.

Described as ‘electric’ Moschino hope their newest recruitment will help in bringing back Moschino’s statement identity and essence. This follows the brands 30th anniversary show, which took place in Milan last month, celebrating the brands most famous looks throughout.

A spokesperson for the company commented on the departure of previous creative director, who has been with the brand for just under 20 years, saying “Moschino thanks Rosella Jardini for her enormous contribution in keeping the spirit of Moschino alive. Her creativity and tenacity drove the brand on.”

Scott’s first collection for the brand will be A/W 14 and will be presented during Milan Fashion Week.
