15-11-2013

With the help of her close friends, family and co-workers the designer feels now is the right time to finally put her life into book form.

autobiovivwestWorking closely with biographer Ian Kelly, Westwood went on to comment in a press-release “the living deserve respect. I am excited that this will be my story, the story nobody ever did before.”

Kelly is just as excited to be working with the iconic designer, who was one of the main attributes to the 70s punk scene.“Vivienne is much more than what you see. She is passionately committed to human rights and to eco-politics. I am keen to tell the truth about a huge-hearted, warm individual whose clothes are known the world over.

The book which is set to launch October 2014 will feature thoughts and quotes on the designer from a range of her different industry friends, including the likes of Naomi Campbell, Prince Charles and Bob Geldof. As expected the book will also touch on the designers personal life, as hinted by biographer Ian in the press release the designer “recognizably the Derbyshire primary school teacher who met and fell in love with Malcolm McLaren.”
