Stella McCartney Designs Limited Edition Ribbon

To help in raising and increasing awareness of the international day for elimination of violence against women on Monday-November 25th.
McCartney has designed this ribbon to show that she is 100% behind the campaign creating the limited edition badge to show the importance of the day, giving support to the charity and also the women who are suffering day to day with domestic abuse and violence.
The special metal badges will be handed out to customers who makes a purchase at any Kering store in Europe from Friday 30th November. As well as the limited-edition McCartney ribbon, the Kering Foundation is also now promoting the cause with a digital campaign. The virtual badge will run alongside an online two-week digital campaign running through Twibbon, Those using the site will gain access to fix the online badge to personal social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
The initiative will be promoted via the Stella McCartney Twitter and Facebook accounts, support coming from other PPR brands including those such as Gucci. Users can also share this badge on their own social media channels via twibbon.com
Last year the Twibbon badge event was communed with 15 million people on the web alone. To concide with the international day for the elimination of violence on November 25th. From as long as 1991, the white ribbon has been the symbol of the ‘Men-led campaign to stop violence against women’.
Stella McCartney commented on the campaign to WWD, saying “the global violence statistics against women are horrific and it was that which inspired me to bring attention and publicity to this incredibly important awareness campaign by designing this badge” McCartney also added. “I cannot stress enough how important it is that people are aware of the facts and gain information to make changes so desperately needed end this terrible violence”.
Celine bonnaire, executive director of the PPR Foundation for women’s dignity and rights told WWD, “McCartney is now a member of the foundation’s board, alongside PPR CEO Francois Henri-Pinault, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini and Balenciaga CEO Isabel Guichot, among many other big labelled companies and names.”
