LCM Set to Overlap with Pitti Uomo

London Collections:Men is set to overlap with the Pitti Uomo trade fair by 2 days.

LC:M chairman Dylan Jones commented on the overlap, “We haven’t reached any agreement [with Pitti Uomo], as far as I’m concerned we’ve offered so many olive branches.”

Going ahead with despite the two big menswear events clashing, Jones commented that the Italian organisers appeared particularly intransigent, and didn’t show any interest in working with London.

However Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine commented that he was particularly keen to improve the situation, “[the situation] has to be tackled with intelligence and common sense to support the system. We are in talks with London to discuss this matter to coordinate with them.” Napoleone went on suggest that the Pitti event should have begun one day after London.

The problem may just be resolved by 2015, when the schedules are set to change for both events.
