Margaret Howell Menswear A/W 14/15

Sticking to staple pieces from the modern man’s wardrobe, Howell’s A/W 14/15 collection was understated, minimal and fuss-free with the base of most of the outfits comprising of a pair of loose-tailored trousers.

A conservative, work-wear colour palette, shades of blues, black, greys and olive green were prominent, often featured in shirts to add some colour to the suited silhouette and designed with high quality fabrics to give the pieces a neat finish.

The collection had a very schoolboy feel; plaid shirts and patterned jumpers layered over shirts, styled with rucksacks and skinny ties. Meanwhile the styling gave an air of a casual, lived-in feel, shirts were worn untucked and blazers were loosely fastened.

The overall aesthetic of Howell’s A/W collection was clean, simple and easy on the eye. The soft greys and blacks complemented each other and silhouettes were adapted by styling turtle necks under pieces to create a modern take. Accessories were kept simple; black hats or a checked scarf were added to create layering to outfits.
