Vivienne Westwood Chops Off Her Hair For Climate Change
Dame Vivienne Westwood, known for her fiery red hair has joined a protest in her local borough, taking the step against climate change and replacing her former red hair with a whispy, white pixie cut.
The designer made sure to save her big hair reveal for after her Paris Fashion Week show, emerging in a feather headdress on the catwalk, Westwood was clearly keen to keep the headlines on her designs and not her hair.

Spotted in Clapham last week, the designer removed her beanie to reveal an icy white, short pixie cut. Clearly trying to make a bold impact, a spokesperson for her label commented, “Vivienne cut her hair as we must all wake up to Climate Change.” Also as a statement of her age, the 72 year old designer “has decided cut the red out for a while – to show she’s proud of her age.”
Westwood who is well-known for her input and commitment to climate change campaigns, including promoting the campaigns through her designs, even taking to the catwalk of her SS13 collection in a Climate Revolution t-shirt, has previously spoken out on her passion, of advising her fans “don’t invest in fashion, but invest in the world.”
