Anticipation Mounts for the Debut Roksanda Ilincic Store
07-04-2014
Embarking on the unveiling of her first ever standalone store in London, which promises to be a real treat for all fashionistas very soon, combined with her many standout, ingenious collections that focus on a concept of femininity and beauty and unquestionably going from strength to strength, Roksanda Ilincic is currently a designer seriously worth documenting.
Her designs reflect her enthusiasm for versatility and individuality; showcasing extreme differences in styles that keep her works constantly innovative and unique. Rapidly evolving as one of the most exciting designers of our time, Roksanda Ilincic persistently has the fashion world on the edge of their seats. One year she’ll showcase seriously large Joan Collins shoulders (spring/summer 2010), then Ilincic will present her full flowing design aesthetic with fluid wing sleeves that optimized evening glamour (Autumn/Winter 2010/11), followed by Avian-inspired looks in vibrant hues (Autumn/Winter 2011/12), and not forgetting the designer’s sinister exploration into fairytales (Autumn/Winter 2013/14). With many achievements including winning the British Fashion Council New Designer Award in 2012, we consider ourselves to be hugely honored to have Roksanda Ilincic as one of our most talented, thrilling industry giants.
Marking a new chapter in the label’s development, Roksanda Ilincic is opening her first store located at 9 Mount Street in London’s Mayfair, and although we’re unsure as to exactly when this is taking place, we know that the coming months will be hugely anticipated. We are aware however; that the store will be housed in a historic Grade II listed building, and has been designed collaboratively with David Adjaye, a British architect who has previously built homes for Alexander McQueen, artist Jake Chapman and photographer Juergen Teller. The store will showcase Roksanda Ilincic’s vision and DNA in a greater way; enabling shoppers to view the label’s collections look and fit within this exciting new environment. She will be in good company, with the likes of Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga and Lanvin all neighbouring Ilincic on the same street. The suspense is killing us!
