The Garment Project at Pump House Gallery

The Garment Project, curated by Orsola de Castro is a 5-week exhibition dedicated to the creative methods involved in making clothes for the fashion industry.

The Garment Project also includes designs from a project Fashion Enter have been working on, The Wandsworth Youth Fashion Project, teaching young people the importance and procedures that go from initial sketch to final design. The dresses which were recently featured on Wall Street International were displayed on mannequins with the focus and theme surrounding them celebrating the unseen practises behind garment making. Displayed alongside finished and unfinished pieces by Ada Zandition and From Somewhere, the iconic London architecture inspired designs were met with praise from the attendees.

Keen to see project on show in its final glory members of Fashion Enter and FashionCapital popped along to The Pumphouse Gallery to congratulate the five girls and see the designs on display.

It was a pleasure to see the girls final designs completed and displayed in a professional exhibition, alongside some top designers work, the atmosphere was vibrant with family and friends mingling and congratulating all their hard work and commitment.” Keeley Smith, Fashion Enter Teacher.

Make sure you pop along to the Pump House Gallery in Battersea Park to see the exhibition and the Wandsworth designs. Admission is free for all!
