Fashion Enter Attends Graduate Fashion Show at The Houses of Parliament
02-05-2014
It was a drizzly evening outside but that didn’t dampen any atmosphere inside as guests , who attended courtesy of invitation by Damien Collins MP and The UK Fashion & Textiles Association were treated to experiencing fine hospitality, getting a glimpse of the work that some of the UKs outstanding young talent have produced.

The reception format gave the audience a chance to converse and network with other people in the industry. Everyone was keen to celebrate the young design talent, with family of the graduate designers in attendance. The reception concluded with some speeches, including one from Damien Collins MP whom is passionate about being able to communicate the fashion & textile industry status to the government to ensure that the public and government can collaborate and do what’s best for the industry. Another speech, by Fiona Lambert Brand Director of George (the main sponsors of Graduate Fashion Week) to which the main message was to emphasise that there needs to be more opportunities for young people wanting to enter the industry.
Soon after the speeches had been made the evening burst into life as models strode down the catwalk one by one with music and vibrant lighting, showcasing clothing made by 12 different graduates from universities all round the country. Ranging from Arts university Bournemouth to Manchester School of Art. Finally there was work showed by three individuals who are already attached to the company George to which at the end each model catwalked together and dispersed into the crowd.
The preview certainly provided and exciting introduction to what’s to come at Graduate Fashion Week from 31st May to 3rd June at the Old Truman Brewery.
