Jil Sander Appoints a New Creative Director
Following the departure of Jil Sander from her eponymous label, Rodolfo Paglialunga has joined the brand as Creative Director, already beginning work on his first collection. The Italian designer will showcase his first collection for the label during the S/S 15 collection, often showcased at Milan Fashion Week.
The designer has a great deal of experience in creative and director roles, beginning his fashion career at Romeo Gigli in the early 90s. Paglialunga is most known for spending over 10 years at Prada where he became design director of womenswear. He then left Prada to take on the role of Creative Director at Vionnet.
CEO of Jil Sander, Alessandro Cremonesi commented on Paglialunga’s arrival, saying: “We have found a great talent that, with his personality and design skill, will be able to raise our design level to new heights.”
Paglialunga commented, “I have boundless admiration for the brand, as I strongly believe in its pure vision and values.” Adding that his aim while at the label is to carry the brand to the next level through a fusion of “sophistication, luxury and innovation”
