GFW: Awards 2014
04-06-2014
Bath Spa have worked hard to create a top-notch fashion design course and last night (Tuesday 3rd June) the hard work paid off with BA graduate, Grace Weller, (pictured right) winning the Womenswear Award and Gold Award, for her intricate, hand-embroidered lace designs.
Clearly on a roll Bath Spa picked up both titles two years ago by Chloe Jones and the University is carving a positive reputation for its BA fashion course led by Louise Pickles.
The awards ceremony was held in the Truman Brewery in London’s East End, and hosted by Zoe Hardman. The judging panel that included Sarah Mower, Peter Pilotto, Philip Treacy, Louise Gray; Sara Maino of Italian Vogue; and Fiona Lambert, vice-president of George at Asda, the title sponsor for the event, were unanimous that Grace Weller’s collection should scoop the two top awards.
“Her designs are graceful, beautiful and elegant and the craftsmanship and hard work really stood out.”
