Harrods Menswear Department to get Revamp
After a successful sales period in menswear the store team decided that now would be a good time to dedicate more space to house fashion, footwear and accessories for men.
The type of expansion really emphasizes the increasing popularity of luxury menswear as its current space of 60,000 square will be enlarged to 75,000 by April 2015.
The men’s international gallery which was launched in May 2013 will be expanded into a second room, giving its best-selling brands their own shop-in-shops and refurbishing those for brands such as Balenciaga, Valentino and Balmain.
Menswear fashion director Jason Broderick told Drapers: “Over the past five years we have seen a huge increase in the menswear market. Men are much more confident in their shopping habits, and to keep up with their demands we have to be proactive in introducing new brands and creating interesting shopping experiences.”
Other movements in the menswear department in 2015 will see new menswear fit outs to be introduced on the lower ground, ground and fifth floors. The lower ground floor will house the extended international gallery, a section for classic brands such as Aquascutum, Pal Zileri, Hackett and a contemporary area.
