Slow Fashion Label in Need of Financial Backing
03-01-2017
A-MM-E is an ethical slow fashion label that uses high quality and ethically sourced cashmere created by Emma Kempton. Inspired in Italy the cashmere designs are handmade in Britain by a team of pattern cutters and seamstresses.
Emma’s creative background developed as a costume designer for theatres and the Gifford’s Circus, has gained her several awards for fashion films. After 8 years out of the industry to have children she is now back. Starting the label initially from Italy where she was living with her husband who is a conceptual artist & sculptor, she has since moved back to UK. Launched in February 2016 at London Fashion Week the label received much industry praise. In the first year the label was selected by Wolf and Badger to be in store at the Notting Hill branch, by several online fashion companies, including selection as outstanding design (selected as a ‘black sheep’) at NJAL.
All A-MM-E collections focus on a mix of classic and contemporary, simple yet with some sort of subtle ‘bling’ – slightly bohemian, slight ‘art crowd’ feel, while combining everyday wearability. Emma comments: “We see a large market for unique designer pieces which may cost more than the high street but are less than expensive luxury names -A-MM-E offers affordable designer fashion, appealing to people who want something niche and well designed, well cut, with well chosen fabrics… and it’s a nice extra it happens to be ethical as well.”
The latest collection focuses is on gold mixed with browns, leopards and camels in sumptuous limited edition fabrics of cashmere & silk velvet with a few metallic laces, as seen in the Victoriana Riding Coats and Skirts alongside the gold panelled cashmeres, drape dresses and ruffle tops.
All the collection samples along with accompanying images and press releases are ready to go. Selected to showcase at Scoop at the Saatchi Gallery this February Emma is asking now asking for financial help to pay for the remainder owing for the reserved stand.
If you would like to help this slow fashion, ethical label get off the ground then visit the A-MM-E Kick Starter page to find out more and back this project. Emma has just two weeks to raise £2,000.
