Fashion Goes South for the Hottest September Ticket

The fashion pack is heading to the south of the Thames for the fashion event of September – PROFILE, the unique fashion industry platform for the UK’s new and vibrant designers.

Profile, organised by London Fashion Forum, is the fashion industry’s platform between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week for the UK’s new and emerging designers.  Tatler’s Fashion Director and style icon in her own right, Isabella Blow and music mogul Gerry DeVeaux will be in attendance at the Gala Show as well as the leading retailer buyers for some the key UK high street fashion stores.

Other fashion and celebrity faces that will be showing their support to the UK’s emerging designers include Veronica Webb, one the US’s first black supermodels; designer Zandra Rhodes, actor Rhys Ifans, singer/ songwriter Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffy of Supergrass.

The 30-minute Catwalk Theatre Show will feature celebrity models Daisy Lowe and Jackson Scott.  Over 20 designers ranging across womenswear, menswear and accessories will be featuring in the show.

Of the 85 designers who will feature their collections at this years Profile event, six womenswear designers, five menswear and eight accessories designers will take part in the 30-minute Catwalk Theatre Show in front of a suitably fashionable crowd.

The final part of the Gala Show will be dedicated to announcing the winners of Profile competition.  For the sixth season running, House of Fraser, Debenhams and Hobbs have confirmed that they will be sponsoring a category each (womenswear, menswear and accessories respectively).  New to this year, leading high street retailer, Whistles will be sponsoring the New Designer Award.  The four winners will each receive much sought after retail space in one of the category sponsor’s flagship stores.

Commenting on Profile, Isabella Blow said; “The UK is the breeding ground for design talent and it’s important that the fashion industry supports this great British tradition.  Profile is a fantastic opportunity for young designers to display their collections to a great number of buyers, stylists and fashion writers.  It’s great that London Fashion Forum is doing something worthwhile for our fashion industry.”

Gerry DeVeaux added; “There’s so much focus on our high profile designers that it’s great to see that young British talent is getting an opportunity to break into the notoriously difficult world of fashion with the support of some of the biggest names in the UK high street.”

Profile is a two-day event that will combine a trade exhibition, catwalk show and competition.  The event will be held on 20-21 September at Vinopolis, 1 Bank End, London SE1.

LFF’s Chairman and Director, David Jones, commented; “Profile continues to go from strength-to-strength with every season.  We continue to garner support from the British fashion retail industry.

“There’s no other industry event within the fashion calendar that offers such a unique opportunity for all sectors of the trade.”
