Minister for Employment to Visit The Factory

We are delighted to confirm that The Minister for Employment Mark Hoban is happy to attend the ASOS and Fashioncapital.co.uk stitching academy official launch event on Wednesday 4th September

The Level 1 Fashion and Textiles ABC Qualification was written by Fashion Enter Ltd, sister company to Fashioncapital.co.uk as there was no suitable stitching qualification available

Leyla Memhet, tutor, commented “I have worked as a machinist, Factory Manager and couture sample machinist all my life.  I have a wealth of skills to pass on to a new generation of stitchers. I have been so pleased with the first 20 candidates on the course – they are little treasures!”

Here’s a quote from one of the learners currently taking part in the course, Shana Tekila Tshiobi.

So far I think that the course is actually really good, it has helped me a lot. I have learnt how to stitch, practiced using a variety of different sewing machines and practised keeping the stitching straight. I’m so happy to be part of this course as it will help me in the future in gaining important knowledge in stitching and the construction of a garment. Hopefully in the future this experience will come in handy and I will be able to make my own garments.”

A Few Words From Iesha Wilson

Iesha Wilson was enrolled to the Fashion Enter Level 3 apprenticeship programme, she recently finished and gained her qualification. Here’s what she had to say about her time on the course:

ieshawilson

“I completed my Level 3 apprenticeship in Fashion and Textiles in July. During the 19 months its been challenging to get the work done to such a high standard but well well worth it.  I have learnt so much and the beauty of the apprenticeship is that you can put theory into practice!  I was actually head-hunted as well during my apprenticeship so that was a real bonus too and great to be appreciated!  I would recommend the apprenticeship programme to anyone but don’t think its an easy option- its like everything else in life you get out what you put in.”

We wish Iesha the best of luck in her future fashion career.
