What with Grad Awards and the Glamour Awards we thought it was high time to award our very own talent with the FashionEnter Apprentice of the Year…
It’s with great pleasure on behalf of the company to announce that Zoe Barrow has won ‘Apprentice of the Year’ for 2013!
However, it was a close call with two other apprentices who both finished in equal second place. Well done to Shannon Lloyd and Abbie Godbold.
A huge thank you to all the apprentices for all the work they undertake, you are all very much appreciated.
The current cohort of apprentices will also be able to apply for Apprentice of the Year in 2014!

Bromley Fashion Week ‘Walk the Walk’
On 25th May FashionCapital and the London Model Academy held three intensive modelling and catwalk workshops in Bromley town centre, as part of the first ever Bromley Fashion Week!
LMA Director, Michaela and professional model Arna trained young hopeful models through building confidence exercises, physical movement, posing for the camera, catwalk training and model advice session.
Overall it was a great success. Here are just some of the comments received after the workshops –
‘It was fun and made me feel confident.’
‘I thought it was a fun experience, and built my confidence a lot.’
‘She loved doing the catwalk. She did well in the group walk, and was very happy up there.’
‘Would love to do it again.’
‘I was scared at first, but once I got on stage I had a lot of fun and felt confident.’
Thank you to London Model Academy for a fantastic day!
Level 3 Apprentices are Making It Happen!
The latest 20 designers on the Level 3 Fashion and Textiles apprenticeship are now six months into their 18-month award and they are flying!
Here’s a quote from Iga Musial an apprentice at New Look:
“A recent practical exercise has shown me how garments are made from the cutting stage to final form. I must admit it has been a really hard work.
I think that by trying different professions we learn to respect people who are skilled in particular jobs. Furthermore, by being faced with different areas in the industry I have learnt a lot about my own interests. I get to know what I really enjoy doing, what I am good at and what would be a real ordeal.
I hope that as a student, even when getting impatient and frustrated with my lack of skills, I am still pleasant to teach as I do highly appreciate time spent on my personal development.”
If you are an employer and seeking to hire an apprentice or perhaps you would like to be an apprentice please contact Jenni Sutton on e-mail jenni@fashion-enter.com or call 0208 462 9620
