Made in Britain

On 21st March the Made in Britain event with Collyer Bristow and FashionCapital took place at the leading law firm’s gallery in Chancery Lane.

A select cluster of ladieswear and accessory designers showcased their collections in a celebration of the ‘Made in Britain’ label. The evening soiree was a great success with a host of industry figures and designers networking whilst the champagne flowed freely!

A few words from solicitor Nick Gould, Director of Fashion Enter Jenny Holloway and Head of Quality at New Look, Sof Sofocleous on the lack of funding for creative businesses, the Made in Britain label and the importance of the apprenticeship programme tied the focus of the evening together.

It was fantastic to see such an impressive list of names attend including River Island, New Look, Creative Skillset, Barbara Hulanicki the founder of Biba and Caren Downie, ex senior buyer at asos.

One of the exhibitors Ornella Iannuzzi commentd:

A really big THANK YOU to you! And also to Fashion Enter & Collyer Bristow for the fantastic event! It has indeed been a real success and I am so happy you offered me the opportunity to join you!

The quality of the event was impressive and comparable – if not better – to the VIP evening at the Goldsmiths’ Fair! Really well organised, great number of guests, top mark on canapes and choice of drinks! I loved everything about it and I would definitely want to take part in the next one.’

Barking boutique closure

It is with genuine sadness that the Barking Boutique of Fashion Enter will be closing down as of Wednesday 4th April   Retail is not currently working to the expected targets and Fashion Enter can not longer justify the costs involved in running the retail boutique. There have been some excellent highs from Barking with the highly successful Face of Barking and Dagenham, the Summer Uni programme, Real Models, direct work with designers and even resulted in Syreeta being awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year award with Docklands Business Club and East London Chambers of commerce in 2011.  Syreeta and Leyla have been an amazing duo and both are highly respected – its now a new chapter for both working at the Fashion Studio.

It is very important that any designer who has collections at Barking must arrange collection immediately by emailing syreeta@fashion-enter.com.  There will be a further dedicated alert to the 80,000 database to reiterate this point.  Fashion Enter regrets that we can not be held responsible for stock lost in transit during this transitional time  Please do contact the boutique directly on 020 8507 3454 and liaise with Syreeta accordingly.

A huge thank you to all at Barking for the last six years – its been a journey.

I would like to personally thank Simon Green, Andre and Lynne Dale along with the security team for all their support. I hope to keep our great relationship going with Trident who over the years have given us the opportunity to change hundreds of young peoples lives and we shall continue to mentor those in Barking and Dagenham who needs us. We shall miss Vicarage Field Shopping Centre tremendously and Leyla had also said she has had a wonderful time here and we are both excited about the future.’

Michiko and Me in the Sunday Times Style Magazine

Childrenswear designer Michiko and Me has been featured in the Sunday Times Style magazine. The collection is proudly produced at The Fashion Studio.

It’s a fantastic recognition for the outstanding work that the studio in London do  – who are part of Fashion Enter – who have supported us from the first kimono dress sample to today. They are an essential part of our success to date and it is great to be able to celebrate this with them.’
