Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Bromley is holding a unique event to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee all day on Tuesday 15 May. ‘London as a Global Centre of Fashion’ will showcase fashions from the last 60 years and fashions of the future using displays and interactive installations to inspire visitors. Bromley town centre will play host to the displays with exciting fashion specialists Fashion Enter providing exhibitions and interactive installations in special domes. There will also be a party atmosphere in Bromley High Street all day with live music, roving entertainers and much more.
Fashion Enter is delighted to be working with the London Borough of Bromley for Her Majesty’s visit to Bromley town centre. The visit will pay homage to the industry of fashion with installations of the Design Cycle, interactive displays of designers and crafters at work, the future of fashion and fashion through the ages, looking at the six decades of the Queen’s reign from the 1950’s to present day.

The Future of Fashion competition winners announced!
Last week FashionCapital announced the winners to the ‘Future of Fashion’ competition. Due to the high level of creativity and standard of entries, the judging panel have decided on six not five overall winners. Congratulations to Nelson S, Sarah S, Mikaela, Marie L, Mariapia and Courtney D.
The winners will each receive £100 and the opportunity to meet The Queen at Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee event on May 15th in Bromley. Their designs will also be enlarged and transformed into a large scale dynamic exhibition which will become part of the fashion installation that Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh will review

London Garments Expop in association Profile – 2012
Profile is in its 11th successful year and has partnered up with the London Garments Expo for 2012! A mixture of national and international manufacturers, designers and retailers will be visited by some of the most acclaimed press and buyers at this three day event, 29th, 30th and 31st August, at The Business Design Centre, London. A Best of British Evening Gala will also be held to showcase the hottest design talent that the UK has to offer.
With only four months to go, some amazing partnerships have been built to make this the event of the year. Designers and manufacturers can rely on their garments being transported to the event without any problems with Jupiter Logistics Europe Ltd, and New Tang Dynasty TV ( independent Chinese TV station www.ntdtv.com ) are also involved and will be running interviews prior to and from the event. We will be bringing you exciting news as soon as it happens so keep reading each week for more announcements, including impressive discounts and any information you may need.

ASOS and The Prince’s Trust visit The Fashion Studio
Last Wednesday saw 12 young people from The Prince’s Trust charity, along with ASOS, visit Fashion Enter’s Fashion Studio. The visit to The Fashion Studio was part of a host of fashion related activities that ASOS and The Prince’s Trust were running; from Marketing and CV writing to customising outfits. At The Fashion Studio, there was the opportunity to speak to and learn from Fashion Director, Jenny Holloway about the company, to learn about education within the fashion industry with Fashion Enter’s Apprenticeship Programme and to also learn about different aspects of fashion design, from menswear to print design.

The Latest from Boutique Bath
After announcing the winner of our t-shirt design competition last week we have been working on a press release to get the message out there. The t-shirts with winning illustration by Silvia Potter will be available to buy in a range of sizes in the next few weeks, watch this space!

The FashionCapital team, including us all the way West in Bath, are gearing up for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee event this month. FashionCapital will be putting together an interactive showcase of fashions from the last 60 years and we look forward to assisting and joining in with this once in a lifetime event!
New in we have a local designer, Sandra Burge, specializing in leather goods such as belts and cuffs. Her unique belts have caught the eye of customers and some have already been snapped up.
Last week’s bestseller: due to the rainy, damp days knitwear has been the staple bestseller; in particular the Bristol based company Peregrine has been shifting stock for both men and women.
