Dear all,
Design a Dress for Lauren’s Way Competition – Top 20!
At this year’s WorldSkills event at Excel London, FashionCapital gave thousands of young people the opportunity to design a dress for Lauren Goodger.
Budding young fashion designers from across the world visited the FashionCapital stand over the four day event to enter the design competition for the winning dress to be made up and part of Lauren’s Way collection, being exclusively bought by high street retailer New Look.
With almost 6000 entries Lauren, along with fellow TOWIE star Lauren Pope came to the event on the last day to select the top 50 designs. With such a difficult decision Lauren then needed help from the general public to vote for their favourite dress and over the last two weeks the public have been voting!

The top 20 entries have now been selected and from these it will be down to the panel of judges including Lauren and Head of Buying at New Look Sally Heath to select the top 10 which will be produced and showcased at the Profile fashion event on 10th November. The final winning design will then be announced at Profile! Sally commented:
‘It’s so fantastic to see so many entries for the competition and I am delighted to be part of the judging panel. Lauren has great style and I look forward to launching her collection at New Look.’

Design Competition with Heather Lucy
This year FashionCapital discovered Heather Lucy, a new and exciting ‘inclusive’ fashion house… with a serious twist. They design for people with Down’s syndrome! Now you’re probably wondering if people with Down’s syndrome even need dedicated design. We certainly did. Then Heather explained why they’ve never had properly fitting clothes—the industry standard block simply doesn’t work—and that’s when it all made sense.
Heather and her team have solved the problem and are developing both a couture and high street fashion range “to match anything you’ll find in the shops.” Her exciting, unusual and worthy brand is called One More Thread (or OMT). Heather says, “It’s tricky. Obviously no one wants a Down’s syndrome uniform. That would totally defeat the object. Fashion should be inclusive and people with Down’s syndrome want to be fashionable, just like everyone else. But they also want to be exclusive and individual… just like everyone else.”

So FashionCapital has teamed up with Heather Lucy to offer you the chance to be part of this revolutionary fashion movement. We want you to be inspired by the concept of ‘Inclusive’ combined with ‘Exclusive’ and create a T-shirt print design for a Special Limited Edition release.
The winning design will be produced and showcased as part of Heather Lucy’s launch collection. In fact, there might even be more than one winner 😉 Heather likes to keep things fresh!
