Dear all,
Profile 2011 announces Headline Sponsors!
As this year celebrates Profile’s 10 year anniversary we are delighted to announce an exciting new development to the critically acclaimed event!
Laurens Way is officially confirmed as the Headline Sponsors of Profile 2011 and due to the excessive popular demand of Lauren from the hit TV show TOWIE Profile will be both a trade and consumer event for 2011. Lauren’s Way commented:
‘Lauren Goodger, star of The Only Way Is Essex will be launching her new beauty range and fashion collection ‘Lauren’s Way’ on November 10th at the Profile event at One Marylebone.
Lauren is a long term admirer of the London fashion scene and strongly supports the emerging fashion designers of today
To mark Profile’s 10 year anniversary this years event will be consumer and a trade facing event with key fashion and beauty buyers and press in attendance.
A catwalk will showcase Lauren’s fashion collection along with 20 new hot fashion designers and the models will be sporting her tanning products, hair extensions and fake lashes. Tickets to the event will cost £5 and will be available to buy from www.fashioncapital.co.uk‘
Taking place at One Marylebone the grand Soane Hall will remain as the showcasing space for the 22 designers but now the basement will be transformed into an exciting designer sale with both fashion and beauty products available to buy!
Lauren from TOWIE will debut her red carpet collection in the evening gala and downstairs shoppers will be able to buy pieces from her collection as well as Laurens Way beauty products. Lauren has a huge following so not only will this attract her fans but will generate major press interest!

London Fashion Week – Get the Look on the FCBoutique

British Designers @ FashionCapital Bath
We’ve all been following the shows here in Bath; JoJo the manageress went to London to see the action first hand while the rest of us watched via the virtual online schedule. The wonders of technology! It was great to see the S/S collections from some of our resident designers and while Giles Deacon showed in London, an exclusive one-off dress created by his assistant Masato Jones sold to one of our regulars here in Bath. Great news.
Also selling well in Bath is the country meets designer label Peregrine – the long drapes and chunky button cardigans have been perfect to keep out those first autumn chills. Joining us this week is leather bag label Jaya. All the bags, purses and wallets are made from soft Napa leather and are available in a broad range of colours.
Just in…new pieces in the most gorgeous deep shades from Nina Bon Bina. More new stock arriving in the next few days so do drop in for a visit.

Membership changes to FashionCapital
FashionCapital and Fashion Enter has now undertaken the internal review
The truth of the situation is that we don’t receive any funding to carry out the work with new designers anymore and the membership costs of £399 plus VAT do not cover the cost of information on tap when a designer needs help or the cost of the sales function either.
We have unique users approaching the 100,000 mark and of that 100s of full memberships that all require extensive support and advise.
We never want to under deliver on our ethos so regrettably the membership has to change.
As of 1st October full memberships will be ceasing whereby there is hand hold mentoring across every aspect of the designers business.
We will be instigating a membership fee of £150 plus VAT. To review a breakdown of the new membership please click here.
The mentoring and support will be replaced by a comprehensive programme of seminars. Members will have attendance preference and a reduced cost for the seminars.
One to one mentoring is available however but at an hourly charge. For further details here please contact jenni@fashioncapital.co.uk
The Showroom function will be closed as of 1st October. We will not be opening accounts for any more designers BUT we are running Calls for Designers whereby we will work with retailers and etailers to source new talent – this is similar to the Debenhams project for menswear and Brand Alley and the Evening Black Dress
At this point we would like to wish our current Sales Manager Lynsay McConachie all the very best in the future and a huge thank you to all that has been achieved.
For current full members we will continue to offer support for the duration of the membership or if required will offer a refund on the unused membership fee. Please confirm your intention to Jenni Sutton on jenni@fashion-enter.com
FashionCapital will be a centre of sampling and production and become a centre of excellence and also concentrate resources on the Fashion Apprenticeship programme.
Thank you for your kind understanding here. We hope that when funding is available again through regeneration and development funding stream we can resort back to a full service
Boutique Pick of the Week
Back in Spring 2011, Fashion Capital and British Designers @ FC Boutique Bath held a competition aimed at individuals not yet working within the fashion industry, but wanting a chance to design a collection. The entrants had to design a capsule womenswear collection and Joshua Riches wowed the judges with his designs.
This week’s Boutique Pick of the Weeks hails from his 6 piece collection. This coat is a great transitional piece to take you stylishly into autumn. With unique elbow detail and vibrant orange lining, this is anything but a regular black coat! The sample size 10 is £140 and exclusively available at British Designers Bath, however it can be made to order up to a size 16 for an additional £20. Joshua Riches’ 6 piece collection is currently in store.
Until next time, have a great week All the team at Fashion Capital x
