British Designers Collective Launches!
This morning the industry’s most fashionable were out in full force to celebrate the launch of the British Designers Collective pop up shop in Bicester Village. A fantastic atmosphere the launch attracted the most influential of press from Elle to Grazia as well as the designers themselves. Chairman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman officially opened the unit with a few words on the importance of supporting British talent as well as Erin O’Connor who has been appointed ambassador of the British Designers Collective.
ITN films International Fashion Fusion with Jessica Ogden
Top designer Jessica Ogden will be visiting The Workshop tomorrow to help judge entries for the International Fashion Fusion competition which has attracted the attention of the ITN film crew. Over the last few months budding fashion designers have submitted their entries to FashionCapital in hope of securing the winning prize of a 6 month placement with asos.com. On top of this the winner will have their design produced at The Workshop and then sold of the leading etailer. Jessica who has long been renowned for her work with traditional craft techniques and the incorporation of hand made features has also created a 10 piece capsule collection for the competition and will be able to review the toiles for this tomorrow.
Clothes Show London
With only 3 months left to Clothes Show London things are really hotting up! We now have a fantastic mix of up and coming designers all showcasing under the FashionCapital.co.uk boutique, taking up prime position next to the prestigious Carnaby Street. FC boutique is delighted to have names such as Whereareyounow? Josie who recently rocked London Fashion Week and Corset Art who is currently brewing up a storm at the Ideal Homes Exhibition with her fantastic corsetry!
There are now a very limited number of stands available. If you are a designer and would like to sell your designs at one of the world’s largest fashion and beauty events then this is your chance! There are also amazing press and pr opportunities not to be missed!

Edge Models meets FashionCapital Club Nights
The first of the club nights in association with Edge Models is progressing well with a fantastic selection of up and coming designers expressing interest. The fashion show will take place on 15th April at Mayfair’s top nightclub Vendome and promises to attract London’s most influential in fashion today, including VIP’s, press and buyers. The event will see up to 10 designers across ladies, men’s and accessories all showcase their most recent collections in a unique and vibrant atmosphere. Watch this space for the selected designers set to wow London’s fashionistas!
Head Buyer comes to The Showroom
An important meeting will be taking place tomorrow at The Showroom. The Head Buyer of asos.com will be visiting our Kingston location to review the very best ladieswear collections. Watch this space!

Business News
Following the announcement of Darling’s more than likely final Budget for Britain unveiling the Stamp Duty Limit will double to £250,000 for one year, to be funded by 5% recovery on house buyers spending over £1m and above. The threshold for inheritance tax has been frozen at £325,000 for 4 years and annual ISA limit on saving is £10,200 and will increase annually with inflation. The cider drinkers of us will suffer the worst, being hit by a 10% increase above inflation whilst wine, beer and spirits increase by 1% as planned and alcohol duties increase 2% above inflation for a further 2 more years.
These decisions will impact first time buyers with low levels of disposable income to help them afford to get on the housing market and increase consumer confidence and in turn propensity to buy.
New Homepage Graphics.
Last month we had stunning images from the wonderful Afira on the homepage and this month we have gone for Simon Wang’s new collection. The images are young, funky and fresh! We love them and can’t wait to jump into spring in style!
