Fashion Enter to meet with Top Retailers

Fashion Enter are soon to hold two very important meetings with buyers from top retailers Debenhams and Bentalls to present the very best designer collections.

The Head Buyer and Head of Design at Debenhams and the MD, Head Buyer and Head of Design from Bentalls will be visiting The Showroom to review what we have to offer with a view to selecting pieces to be sold in their store.

Any member who is interested in having their collection viewed by either Debenhams or Bentalls please contact hayleigh@fashion-enter.com.

Any collections must be received in The Showroom by Wednesday 6th MAY 2009 and if they are selected to go forward we will then allocate a time slot for you to drop in the collection

Please note there will be selection process and not all applicants will be successful.

Developing your own Fashion label at the London College of Fashion

Last Saturday FC headed to the London College of Fashion to take part in the Developing your own fashion label seminar and exhibition. The day aimed to provide a clear understanding of all stages of the product development process, from early design concepts, through to sourcing and production strategies and distribution.  We were able to provide vital information about how we can help young business succeed in this industry along other businesses including Catharina Eden's sampling unit Eden Studio. Overall a very successful day.

Sutton's Fair 2009

Continuing to spread the word FC is also exhibiting at the Connect Sutton Careers Fair 2009 today. Pupils from over 8 schools and colleges have been invited to attend the careers fair all eager to learn about what opportunities are available to them. Everything ranging from accountancy to hairdressing with FashionCapital of course flying the flag for fashion!

BFC Colleges Council

The British Fashion Council held the annual Colleges Council yesterday at the RIBA building in Regents Park. This was the perfect opportunity for investors, industry insiders, manufacturers and design companies to network with course leaders and view the finest up and coming British designer talent. Every week FC produces dedicated SPY articles which have been carefully researched to bring our members an exclusive array of Interior ideas, Looks SPY – which brings you the latest trends either at designer or high street level and Art SPY, showcasing the latest artists.

If you are a designer and would like your collection featured on Looks SPY then please send over at least 9 images complete with price and name of garment.  These boards can be used for your advertising or just popped into your portfolio.  If you are an Artist and would like your work featured on our Art SPY then again just send 9 images with the titles of your artwork.

Retail news

On average seven retailers a day, have been forced to close due to the current economic climate within the first quarter of 2009. This is a 25% increase in retail busts from the last quarter of 2008. 705 companies in the retail sector have fallen into administration between January and March this year compared to the 569 from the end of last year however this is the perfect time to set up an independent business as many existing big hitters in the industry are taking a fall
