Dear all,
Paris Haute Couture Week
High fashion at Paris Haute Couture Week has got fashionistas across the globe in a frenzy of fashion excitement. The bi-annual haute couture collections featured in Paris showcase the true craftsmanship, extreme attention to detail and often hand-executed techniques only the very best in fashion design can perform.
Dior, Chanel, Valentino and Laxroix were among some of the big names with a total of 23 couturiers showing on the official schedule. Journalist Rivkie Baum has been reporting for FashionCapital to give you the low down on the hot trends and catwalk highlights.
ASOS.com calling!
The leading online retailer ASOS.com has been so impressed with FashionCapital designers they are asking to see more of what we can offer them!
This is great news; only last week the Daily Mail reported ASOS.com profits have doubled in the last year. ‘Shoppers may be deserting the high street but that doesn’t mean they are not shopping. They’re just logging on first.’
Overall sales during the year were £81 million, 90 per cent increase on the previous year. ASOS said it had £3.4million visitors to its website in May, a 60 per cent increase on the previous year.
If you are a ladieswear or accessory designer and think your label would be perfect for ASOS.com either email Hayleigh Amos on hayleigh@fashion-enter.com with images of your collection or call 0208 681 5014 for more information.

FashionCapital Forums
Word has it that ‘FashionCapital‘ is becoming the new buzz word amongst the fashion masses, and who can blame them? After all where else can you get that all important business advice, support for graduates and designers, the latest on trends, fashion news and reviews, and much much more?
The forums have been an integral part of FashionCapital. A group of industry based specialists are always on hand to answer any queries or problems you may have. Here's an example of how we helped one designer with her first orders for a small boutique:
'I feel like crying and I just don’t know what to do!
I’ve just been to the factory that making my first order for a small boutique in Manchester, I’ve rung up the factory 2 weeks ago to tell them to change the length of the skirt from 23 inches under band to 21 inches under band.
They didn’t listen to me and now the whole order is wrong, as this is my first order I’m actually scared to ring up the boutique and I don’t have any money to order any more fabric.
What can I do?'
***************************************************************
'Don't panic! That's what we're here for. There are lots of issues here. You must contact the buyer because she may not think the skirt length is a big issue.
If it is a problem then offer a cost price reduction; presume not sale or return? Then you have to tackle the factory.
Did you document the call? Please say you did! If not then it really is his word against yours. You should use a docket which is an instruction to cut; one is available on the tools of the trade section.
Call us tomorrow at the Head Office on 020 8462 9620 and lets talk further.'
