The Face of Croydon is Announced!
After months of anticipation the winner of The Face of Croydon has now been revealed in the culmination of the competition last Saturday. 20 hopeful beauties all took to the stage in Centrale Shopping Centre and strutted their stuff in front of the cheering audience and watchful judges but it was leggy Kym Whittle who took the crowning glory and now holds the title of The Face of Croydon!
The people's choice award went to blonde beauty Sally MacDonald. Well done to both girls who are now set to start a glittering career in modelling.
The Face of Barking and Dagenham
Due to the resounding success of The Face of Croydon, girls based in the Barking and Dagenham borough are set to start a similar journey of excitement! They too can now apply to enter the modelling competition which will take the lucky winner to New York City all expenses courtesy of full funding from Barking and Dagenham LEGI.
Barking and Dagenham Enterprise Awards
The 2008 Business Awards are set to place on July 8th and Fashion Enter has been shortlisted to the final three!
These 2008 Awards are the first of what will become an annual celebration and acknowledgement of the passion, the energy and the achievement of Barking & Dagenham businesses and the people own behind them.
Barking & Dagenham Enterprise, (BDE), the organisers of the Awards, also means business. BDE is a local, business-led body, supported by the Council, that inspires people to seize the opportunities created in Barking & Dagenham and by the huge Thames Gateway and London 2012 Olympic Games regeneration and development programmes.

Little Black Dress at the Fashion and Textile Museum
Last week FashionCapital attended the Little Black Dress Exhibition with the rest of London's top fashionista's. A truly sophisticated event the Fashion and Textile Museum played host to the stunning array of the LBD's ranging from classic Chanel in the 1920's to contemporary British designer's modern twist on the genre. Officially opened by Supermodel Erin O Connor the exhibition is now open to the general public. But remember you heard it hear first!

Understanding the Fashion Industry Seminar comes to an end for Performing Art Students
Yesterday FashionCapital concluded the Croydon HE's Performing Arts workshops Understanding the Fashion Industry. This month long seminar has proved to be extremely popular and the last workshop reviewed the marketing plans of Groundwork, production and selling.
Pippa Luce stated ‘The workshops have been really popular with the students and it's given all of them a very good understanding of Enterprise and fashion. One of the girls is so taken with the workshops that she now wants to go into fashion. This is why Croydon College is so pro-active with our students of today – we like to give each and every one of then a rounded view of business as well as their specialised studies. Many thanks to FashionCapital for providing such fun and interesting workshops over the last five weeks.'

The Funky-House store is situated in the Whitgift Centre in Croydon and this Saturday 28th June will see the grand opening where customers will be able to get a sneak preview of these exclusive designs and find a large range of fashion labels.
