Dear All
R
U the Face of Croydon?
Previous
MD of Red or Dead, Wayne Hemingway
MBE, has given his full support for the modelling competition that took the
borough of Croydon in South London by storm
last year.
The
final will take place during Croydon’s Fashion Festival on June
21st.
Wayne
commented,
“Croydon was a
prosperous historic town in the 19th
Century but the WWII completely destroyed the town. During the 1960s it went
through major redevelopment and was one of the most wholehearted developments of
Corbusian modernism but became known as a concrete jungle.
With the Croydon Town
Centre BID Company now in
place Croydon Town Centre has a new chance to actively restructure the area
with new building developments that are right for today but more importantly
provide cultural change within the borough. Through fashion and its related
sectors of hair and beauty this can be achieved and The Croydon
Fashion Festival
combined with R U the Face of Croydon
can inspire 1000s of youngsters throughout the 34 miles square borough. If
Croydon is being serious about being the London’s
third city by 2020 this is an excellent way to start!”
