After all the doom and gloom in the retail sector of late it’s good to hear that central London stores have fared well. The latest stats show that July sales figures were up by 11.6 % on last year. Retail analysts cited that spend-happy tourists were the main cause of the rise with the poor weather conditions driving them into department stores and shopping centres.

Here at FashionCapital we are gearing up for the impending Fashion Week season. Two of our correspondents will be checking out New York, while we stay on home soil for all the London Fashion Week action. Already hotting up to be an action packed week, what with Luella and Matthew Williamson showing this side of the pond, plus all talent spotting at On/Off, Fashion Fringe and the Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
