Hello All,

After all the doom and gloom in the retail sector of late it’s good to hear that central London stores have fared well. The latest stats show that July sales figures were up by 11.6 % on last year. Retail analysts cited that spend-happy tourists were the main cause of the rise with the poor weather conditions driving them into department stores and shopping centres.

FC’s Enhanced Knowledge Bank / Directory

A big welcome to the new 300 plus companies that have now joined Fashion Capital as a result of Jenni’s amazing time at Moda UK. These new companies are now being listed in the supplier directory which is being revamped with Advanced.

Jenni commented: “It was an amazing experience at Moda and I was fortunate to meet a wide cross-section of excellent companies. It was great to work along side Matthew Ludham of Advanced and Caroline too. Many thanks to Advanced for providing this wonderful opportunity.”

The upgrade for Fashion Capital will be live by the end of October which will include a new state of art Knowledge Bank section sponsored by Advanced.

On with the Show

Here at FashionCapital we are gearing up for the impending Fashion Week season. Two of our correspondents will be checking out New York, while we stay on home soil for all the London Fashion Week action. Already hotting up to be an action packed week, what with Luella and Matthew Williamson showing this side of the pond, plus all talent spotting at On/Off, Fashion Fringe and the Vauxhall Fashion Scout. Our resident snapper, Rodney Compton and his crew, will be on hand to capture all the action so expect reports and images galore.
