Dear All,

A big hello and welcome to all those new members that enrolled with us at our Graduate Fashion Week stand last week. While we are on the topic – congratulations to joint River Island Gold Award winners Nicolas Thomas, UWE, Bristol and Jasper Chadprajong, Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication.

The Young Enterprise Programme combined with the ‘Getting it right first time’ initiative kick started their summer workshop with a tour of Graduate Fashion Week and here’s what some of the participants had to say:

Meanwhile, tomorrow (Thursday 14th June) 35 individuals will be introduced to the inner workings of TopShop. Back, after much demand, for a second run designers and industry professionals will get to hear how TopShop works with suppliers, their expectations and standards along with a buyers perspective of what works. Thanks to Caren Downie (Buying Director) for once again organising this fantastic opportunity.

The applications for Profile, which will be held in conjunction with Fashion Expo, have been pouring in. Over 70 companies applied after just one week of going live with the new dates and location. Profile bridges the gap between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week with an exhibition, catwalk show and competition. Hobbs will be the mainline sponsor and the event will take place at the Business Design Centre Islington, London on the 5th & 6th November. To apply click here.

We are, as always, dedicated to the promotion and development of UK based manufacturing units. The latest news in this area is a scheduled meeting with retailer Reiss on the 22nd June to source new CMT units to work with them directly. We will let you know how that goes in due course.

Editorially this week Nicole Winkler has provided some fantastic street style images, live and direct from Brick Lane, East London. Style Addict talks festival fashion, stylish sales and summer skyscrapers, plus there’s all the latest from the graduate shows.

Finally, don’t forget to check out the FashionCapital forums they are buzzing of late and are full of useful gems of information.

Have a great week.

Until next time,
