Hanging it all together for the fashion industry

NEWSLETTER

Profile 6 is happening – big time! Season on season Profile has grown to be a highly regarded fashion trade show and catwalk event for the industry. In line with this phenomenal growth we would like to welcome onboard two new PR companies that have brought a wealth of new ideas and angles to Profile 6 already  – Contanda and PRactice. Just want to also acknowledge the hard work and success of Mr Eds here who were, for the last two seasons, the PR company for the LFF. Thanks for everything and best of luck in the future.

As of next week the LFF will be reporting regularly on designers, buyers and sponsors that will be attending Profile 6 on September 20th and 21st September at Vinopolis.

A few dates for the designers out there:

Designer Application closing date –    w.c. 15th August

Selection Panel review                 –    24th and 25th August

There are some interesting new twists to Profile 6 this season – just wait and see!!

One person who has already confirmed for Profile 6 is Sami from Felicity Pink who is on an absolute roll at the moment. Sami also has her boutique on www.fashioncapaital.co.uk and we are delighted to announce that her collection has been snapped up by two trendy boutiques La Boheme in Cornwall and Vintage Style in Cramley in Surrey. This just makes my day and makes me realise that this is just what the LFF and www.fashioncapital.co.uk is all about. It’s your way to access markets and information to ensure your business succeeds.

We were mobbed on the stand and on the first day, within just 2 hours, over 1,000 newsletters were snapped up. Great event please click here for further information

Finally many thanks to Mr James Purnell Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism for the cross sector meeting held today at the DCMS offices. It was a genuinely productive meeting with all participants actively providing key market feedback direct to the Minister. Thanks to all that attended – proud of you all!

Couture Shaping Up to a New Mood
It seems par for the course these days to dis the couture shows. Negative comments such as: ‘couture is dead’ paired along with a schedule slimmer than a Ryvita cracker makes for regular press coverage. But maybe they’ve got the idea all wrong. True, there have been a number of no shows this couture season, with the likes of Balmain, Ungaro and Versace all staying away. But while some are noticeably absent others thrive and grow. [More->>]
