“Profile works brilliantly for us“

24-01-2006

Community for us works on three levels, local, national and international. Regular gatherings appeal to London wide residents and visitors and our extensive international e-mailing list reaches out to friends abroad. In December the New London Camerata choir performed at the studio whilst Craven Gene’s Nishat Sattar and Roger Searle did an in store appearance. Early this month Canada’s latest fashion export Rashmi Varma from Toronto previewed her new summer collection. Future events will include C.D. launches, book readings, art installations, and designer appearances.

Potassium’s doors opened in December 2005 with our eclectic mix. Key to the success of our fashion assortment were the finds we made at Profile 6. Bored by the offerings at the major shows, we were keen to explore some of the emerging talent that Profile provided us. At the show we selected Matt & Nat, Craven Gene, Field Clothing, Tonic T Shirts, Isis Cashmere, Stereotype UK, and are talking to Kelly Allen to do an in-store installation. Profile provided us with a one-stop shop with unique designs for the independent market.

“Participating in the LFF Profile event enabled us to have direct contact with buyers one of which is Potassium. We are delighted that they stocked our collection as the Potassium concept is exciting, fresh and innovative, and these are all the elements we also find important within our company FIELD ” Having supplied them for a season with intentions of forward orders for SS06 & aw06/07, we hope this is a business relationship which will mature together and grow from strength to strength, and it is for this reason we are grateful that the LFF hosts the PROFILE show.” Sarah Field, Field Clothing.

“Showing at Profile gave our brand much needed exposure. Our place on the catwalk enabled people to see the true potential of our garments. Potassium approached us at Profile after seeing the catwalk, I’m sure without the platform that Profile gave they would not have seen the potential in our brand. Potassium have been enormously supportive and have turned the exposure from Profile into retail space for our brand. Profile and Potassium have given us the vital first break on which we can build. If London is to stay a fashion centre opportunities like this for new brands are vital.” Philip, Stereotype UK

Keen to provide a platform for emerging talent, Potassium has invited smaller designer makers to showcase their work to the public during February 2006. FF-INC (Fashion and Furniture Incubator) is a Potassium initiative that will focus in February on fashion and in September on furniture and home wares. These tie in to the global agendas in both the fashion and home worlds. Potassium is privileged to have enlisted the help and support of the LFF for this project. Subscribers to Potassium’s ‘dosage instructions’ will also receive an invitation to the after project party.

I am also enclosing the text of the press release due out today at end of day.

“Potassium in conjunction with LFF presents FF-INC FASHION & FURNITURE INCUBATOR”

Throughout February 2006, a selection of hand picked, emerging fashion designer/makers will take space at Potassium to sell their work to the public. This is an important opportunity to promote, encourage and nurture the new, and critical to the culture of Potassium. Serving as an incubator to new designers such as Just Nibi, Rebel Dogg, Reclaim Fashion, Savannah Sandals, Stereotype UK, and R.U. amongst others, Potassium invites you to visit us during the month to show your support for up and coming talent.

FF-INC is a Potassium initiative to promote new design and designers. February 2006 will focus on fashion and September 2006 will show case furniture and home wares, giving each designer/maker direct contact with the public to understand first hand the reactions to their products.

Potassium is an eclectic mix of modern fashion, furniture, and home wares. Key to our philosophy is that we sell unique items that are not found elsewhere; new designers mix with past masters and edited global labels mix with exclusive Potassium designed products.

For further information on FF-INC or Potassium, please call Karim Ladak on +44 79 7727 0755. Alternatively e-mail karim@potassiumstore.co.uk”

I hope to be able to speak with you later in the week and look forward to meeting you either at Profile or before.

Best regards,

Karim Ladak

Director.
