19-05-2006

Profile, the much needed design show situated between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, has been established for over seven seasons promoting new ladieswear, menswear and accessories designers to trade and high street buyers.
The retail sponsors are
Category Retail Sponsor
Ladieswear House of Fraser
Menswear Debenhams
Accessories Hobbs
New Designer Award Whistles
So how does Profile work?
Being a new designer or having a young label is not easy. You need exposure, an affordable event to showcase your collection and, most importantly, you need to meet buyers. Profile enables designers to be previewed by all the major retail sponsors plus local boutique owners too wishing to support local designers.
Designers at this stage need to express an interest in participating in the Profile event by filling in their details on our application form which will be available on www.fashion-enter.com very soon.
More information will then follow shortly regarding venues, regions etc.
A new twist for the relaunched Profile is the televised documentary and currently Profile is in discussions with three TV production companies to produce a fly on the wall documentary charting the progress of the next would be Vivien Westwood or Alexandra McQueen.
The launch party of the national Profile takes place on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th September in London and here the team of Jennifer Holloway and Rah Productions will provide an overview of the campaign that will involve the length and breadth of the UK.
The Profile roadshow will accumulate in a finale in March 07 where each sponsor selects the final winner and each winner will have their ranges on sale at a flagship store of the retail sponsor. In a new twists the event will also be consumer facing with one day open of the event being open for trade with the local communities in each regional heat.

Jennifer Holloway commented “Against all the odds Profile has continued to expand each season and has received tremendous support from trade, sponsors and the designers themselves. It’s a unique event that combines a static trade exhibition event with a highly acclaimed catwalk show and this concept has attracted three TV Production companies to televise the event over a six month period. This is just what this country needs; a national fashion event for the real emerging designer talent”.
Helen from Rah Productions further added “We have been with Profile from the very beginning and each season we have watched the event grow tremendously. The catwalk show has been incredibly successful and now that we will also be partners to the Profile event this is excellent for all concerned. We know that taking Profile national, and having the event televised will capture the imagination of the public. Also by having a consumer angle to the event too will benefit all partners concerned”.

Further announcements of the dates for the regional heats will be announced shortly on the www.fashion-enter.com website.
