FASHION FRINGE 2007 ANNOUNCES SHOW VENUE: COVENT GARDEN PIAZZA
PRESS RELEASE 11/09/07
Fashion Fringe is excited to announce a new partnership. Covent Garden will be hosting this year’s show, which takes place on 20th September during London Fashion Week.
A first for Fashion Week and Covent Garden, members of the general public will be able to have free L’Oréal Paris makeovers on the Superdrug Fashion Fringe bus and watch the exclusive Fashion Fringe final, as it happens, on the plasma screens placed around Covent Garden’s Piazza and exclusively experience some Fashion Week action of their own.
This partnership accentuates what both the Fashion Fringe platform and Coven Garden area have come to embody. The two share similar guiding principles: fresh design ideas and a belief in nurturing creative talent. Covent Garden as an area is rich in culture, history and diversity and undeniably is one of London’s creative hubs. Similarly, Fashion Fringe is dedicated to encouraging dynamic and innovative designers in order to propel the British fashion industry forward.
Ros Barclay, Head of Marketing at Covent Garden, commented:†Covent Garden has much in common with the guiding principles of the Fashion Fringe initiative. As a creative hub and an area rich in culture, history and diversity, Covent Garden is the perfect venue for Fashion Fringe as it continues to seek fresh design ideas and nurture creative talent.â€
Alberto Bartoli, European Marketing Director of IMG Fashion stated “We are especially proud to be hosted by Covent Garden, one of the great magnets for visitors and tourists to this city as well as those of us lucky enough to live hereâ€
