Day one in New York City…
27-03-2008
On our flight to JFK we meet a fashion student from Parsons School of Design with which Fashion-Enter wish to collaborate with in the future.
After catching a yellow cab from JFK to our prestigious and glamorous hotel – the Jumeirah Essex. As you can see from the pictures below we were truly spoilt! We were all extremely tired so retired to our rooms to recharge ourselves for the very busy day that was planned for us the next day. We had a fantastic view from our bedroom window which overlooked Centrale Park.
Day two
We started our day by eating breakfast in a French organic restaurant called Le Pain Quotidien (which also happens to have a branch in Broadwick Street SoHo) The place was packed at 8am with very trendy looking business people ready to embrace their working day. The deco was very true to its organic roots – for example the menu holders were made out of dried bread that was sliced in three to hold the menu’s… very individual.
On our way to our next appointment we saw Karl Largerfeld also known as King Karl directing a photo shoot for the new advertising campaign for Fendi.
We then jumped in a cab as we were so tired of walking and ended up at 40 Clinton Street for our 1pm appointment. We were greeted by a lady called Hillary Flowers who had a lovely boutique and stocked new emerging designers similar to what we do here at Fashion-Enter. Our designers were very impressed with the set up and business cards were exchanged and meeting would be set up in the near future – what a result for our designers!

After leaving here we took a turn and ended up in Little Venice whereby we stumbled across a real gem. The boutique was called b.boutique and was run by a great guy called Andy Khiani. Andy was very interested in some of our designers and again business cards and look books were exchanged.
After this we headed of down Elizabeth Street, Green Street and Mott Street in the SoHo district to discover some other amazing boutiques before heading back to our hotel for dinner. We all had a very productive time and are looking forward to our next day here in the Big Apple.
Welcoming FashionCapital designers to NYC is both exciting and a privilege.. Nolcha is delighted to be the channel for international designers entering one of the world’s fashion meccas. Preparing meetings with industry figures has been key to the sucess and learning process of this trip..
