Getting it Right First Time

The workshops then show practically how to develop a garment from an idea right through to the actual delivery of the garment; stage by stage, with full back up and support from Fashion Enter and specialists.
The seminars have been developed for different levels of participants and have included secondary schools (Langley Park School for Boys), Youth Projects (YEP and Head 4 Business), educational establishments including Croydon College of Higher Education, Kinston College, Ravensbourne College for Design and Communication and Media, Salford College and many more.
GIRFT has been funded by Equal
Cutting IT, brings together a unique collaboration of partners who reflect the driving forces in the UK fashion and textile sector. The project recognises the diversity and exceptional issues facing clothing manufacturing in the UK and focuses on supporting businesses through change, allowing companies to adapt to changing market conditions, breaking down barriers and creating collaborative solutions.
Without the Equal funding these seminars would not have occurred and many participants, over 300 in total, would not have received vital information which stops designers making mistakes and then shows them how to run their business successfully by getting jobs completed effectively and Right First Time.
Many guest speakers have been involved in these seminars and talks including:
Jennifer Holloway
Vanessa Camelia
Jenni Sutton
Hayleigh Amos
Yoel Morales
Emily Tullett
Feride Aydemir
Maciej Winiwiski
Catharina Eden
Cristopher Lee
Phil Dutchovitch Davis
Irene J Darko
Denise Pearson
Ruthi Orlin
Leigh McCodi
Andrew Fearon
This section now reviews the guest speakers seminars, provides power point presentations and gives an overview of the depth of knowledge given by the talented team of specialists.
Grateful thanks to each guest speaker who has provided such wonderful detailed information and of course to Equal who support has been invaluable and much appreciated.
