Eastbury Comprehensive

04-10-2007

Two collections were recently presented at the annual fashion show this year and workmanship was of a high standard reflecting both the unique personalities and the creative skill of the students.

Bobbi Kumari, Head of Textiles at Eastbury School continues to be amazed at the vibrancy found in the Textiles classrooms and rejoices in the creativity and charisma that each Textiles student brings in their own unique way.

A Fashion Management graduate from the London College of Fashion, Bobbi has found that teaching students about the fashion industry has been the perfect equilibrium taking the energy, hustle and bustle of the industry and combining it with the refreshing grounding that comes when working with teenagers.  Her hopes for her students are sky high she envisages them as major contenders in the fashion stakes in the near future.  She has no doubt that her fabulous students will one day take the fashion world by storm!

The Fashion Enter scheme is a wonderful opportunity for the profile of each Eastbury Textiles student to be raised as well as the possibility of fashion collections being manufactured and promoted.  The project allows the students to gain an invaluable insight into the industry and to receive firsthand knowledge, understanding and advice from established members of the fashion industry through workshops with guest speakers.  It is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will certainly boost their self esteem if nothing else.  The students hope to fulfil dreams through this project that millions could only ever imagine aspiring to…understandably they are very very excited!!
