Visual Merchandising & Retail Workshop 2005


 


‘A one day workshop designed for everyone in the business of creativity’


 


This workshop is aimed at designers and retailers, who have a passion for the fashion industry and want to be kept informed about the most effective methods of merchandise presentation & selling for 2005 and beyond.


 


Come and meet other like minded people and learn with practical participation, role plays, and theory,  how to maintain and develop a good visual image through effective window displays, assessing merchandising requirements to maximise sales within store, and ensuring that your sales associates are positive and productive about the brand on the shop floor.


 


Having attended this workshop you will have the confidence to use these practical skills first hand and see a significant improvement in both your sales and the motivation of your staff

Paula Arkell M.A Retail Consultant


 


Paula has worked within the fashion retail industry for the past 15 years. After leaving the University of Derby with an M.A in Sportswear Design and Business Studies, she went onto work with international sports and fashion labels in both design and visual merchandising consulting including: Speedo, Decathlon, Gul, Fat Face, Betty Barclay, and Gap.  Paula recently has worked for Sportswear Lifestyle brand Oxbow as a Regional VM for both the UK and Channel Islands. Her knowledge of retail & wholesale management is extensive from the design process to shop floor and display, and her passion for good visual presence is shown from her down to earth approach to business.  In addition Paula writes a fortnightly expert article: ‘Windows of Opportunity’ for the Fashion Capital website and regularly has opinions printed in Drapers.

The London Apparel Resource Centre, in association with Newham College COVE, are pleased to offer technical and practical short courses (30 hrs/ 5 days) in the following subjects. Upon completion of all 3 units students will qualify for a NewCAD award equivalent to GNVQ level 3.
