Nalini’s Diary

My team has been fantastic and just look at the comments I have received:-
• Alice “I’m so glad the fashion show is going ahead. It’s a brilliant way for the designers to get their clothes, etc shown more to the public. People will see how tasteful some of clothes are and will hopefully remember the designer’s name. It’s also a real chance for people to know that LFF is in Bluewater and understand what we’re about rather than just thinking we’re another shop.â€
• Ruth “The fashion show is a good way to get people more aware of LFF and more interested in our shop. Fashion shows always generate a huge amount of interest and hopefully people will see that we are different from the rest of the shops in Bluewater, we offer a personal touch and unique style of retail.â€
• Saran “I am really looking forward to the fashion show it will bring awareness to LFF and also the designers, more people will then shop in the shop and also know what it is about! This will also be a good experience for everyone working at LFF! Will see you there!â€
• Melvine “I think the fashion show is a great idea! It will be good in the future; a great and good “kick†for the sales, to meet new customers (and to let them know what’s going on!), meet new designers let them know what the shop and campaign is all about. Fashion is not only inside London, hut it’s in Bluewater with great designers and new and different styles of fashion.â€
• Rachel C “The Bluewater fashion show is a great opportunity for all the designers to showcase their collections to the general public and to raise awareness of LFF. This will be a show to remember and one not to miss, so I look forward to seeing you all there, for the boutique’s first fashion show!â€
• Ron “ The Bluewater fashion show is a great opportunity for all the designer’s to promote their product and it will be a great opportunity for LFF. I’m sure everyone will have good time. This will also be a fantastic opportunity for the public to meet the designer’s. I am looking forward to be there on that day “Fashion is an art formâ€
These are the team’s points of view which have all been really positive, and they have been a great support these past couple of week. A big thank you to them for keeping the shop going to its normal high standards whilst I have been working on pulling the fashion show together with head office.
Okay, so what have I have been doing during the last few weeks????
Mainly working incredibly hard on the fashion show. The phone has been permanently attached to my ear networking the event to the industry. WE have had some positives – the press seem to be warming up to us so there hopefully should be a good turn out of mags. and newspapers to see all the designers at the show. Also Bluewater’s press have called me and want to be involved. It’s all good news! RAH productions are responsible for the production side to the show and it will be professional and fantastic with the theatrical catwalk show they plan to put on!
Sponsorship wise, I am delighted with the response from the other shops at Bluewater. They have been so generous and supportive.
‘Biotherm’- who will be supporting by providing their make up expertise for the models and will be giving out some goodie bags.
‘Toni and Guy’ — will be helping out with the hair on the mornings of the events; huge hand needs to go out for their stylists giving up their time. Shoes wise the following stores have offered to help:
‘Russell and Bromley’,
‘Monde a Pelle’,
‘Dune’
I am still waiting on replies from ‘Mr. Shoe’ and ‘Office’.
On the food front I may even have ‘Krispy Crème Doughnuts’ giving a helping hand.
I really feel that the response from all the above companies has given a whole new dimension to the LFF fashion show – the first ever consumer show. The stylist for the show arrives this week to confirm the catwalk schedule……all exciting stuff!
In the mist of all the planning, phoning and organizing, we have still had the shop to run with the customers that love the stock and the unique nature of each designer. Consumer response has been excellent and they are very enthusiastic about the show- absolutely every customer has been told and given a flyer. I am expecting large crowds.
Some highlights for this week are Tanya Dove, Romeo Pieres, Tit fer Tat, Waley Adeymei, Red Stones and Mami. The consumers are now bored of sale stock and everyone wants newness. We also have some new designers joining us: ‘Strumpets’ these are a product that turn any ordinary pair of shoes into a fab pair of boots; ‘Global Guru’ these are a selection of retro scarves and another child’s wear label should be coming into the store before the show.Customers this month have been caught on camera (WITH THEIR CONSENT OF COURSE!!) trying on the fav. pieces on ‘Tanya Dove’ were a popular piece to have as you can see this lady trying a beautiful number in peach, which flatters any shape due to the cut.

‘Tit fer Tat’ has been popular with everyone- even children! We had a little girl gladly pose with one of her hats looking cute. ‘Forest’ also was fairly popular in the sale, one because of the great detail put into each garment, but the sizes range up to a sixteen, which designers need to remember, the market for larger women is growing- so expand your sizes. | ![]() |
| ‘Romeo Pieres’ well what can I say, women are going crazy for their outrageous prints, everyday winner at the moment, here we have a customer trying on the bird print in the short netted skirt. |
First spring line I had in this month was ‘Actar Actar’ and here is another regular customer who is wearing a lovely fresh mint green top over jeans, very trendy right now this shape top and this one flatters slightly better because of the deep neck and elasticated middle. | ![]() |
![]() | I still need belts of ALL different types. ‘Julie Berube’ dropped off a selection of belts last week and I have nearly sold out- belts are what everyone needs please provide, this is a plea! Everywhere has the same regurgitated product, when customers saw belts that were so unique by ‘Julie Berube’ they flew out, so very important to get a new belt designers. Here are some pictures of belt that are over worn now |
One more thing, the shop had its first celebrity visitor this week, Shane Lynch (used to be in Boy zone), and his girlfriend took a good look at all the stock while he stood and waited for her at the front of the shop. I must say he did look good quite stylish beaten look about him and his girlfriend was quite cute!
Okay, until next week I’ll get back to you on the progress with the show and hoping to see everyone soon x
