Greek Inspiration

Watching shoppers navigate the busy streets of London is reminiscent of Trojan warriors preparing for battle. No they are not carrying the latest spear in their handbags, but their metallic accessories and gauzy skirts would fit in on the streets of Troy any day. Extra wide belts, metallic beads and sequins, and brass buckles add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the simple style of the peasant skirts.

The extra wide belts are adorned with metal rivets and buckles and are worn low on the hips. A-line peasant skirts range from just below the knee to ankle length. Gold, silver, and bronze sequins can be added to the skirts for extra appeal. Print fabrics are another alternative to the peasant skirts and are also available with metallic embellishments.

The peasant skirts or wide belts can be worn on their own or together. Decorative tunics and blue jeans can be dressed up with a metallic belt, or a casual peasant skirt can be worn with a fitted top and sandals for a light summer look.
