New York to London

{mosimage}

Where has the summer gone? The nights are drawing in and stock in store is positively autumnal. While those cold, wintery days are inevitable the fashion pack are firmly focused on Spring/Summer 2006, with many visiting the Big Apple for all the New York Fashion Week action. Opening today – New York Fashion Week has its fair share of Brit talent. There’s Williamson, Luella and Mouret to check out and this time around Temperley London will be joining them. While she’s sad to be leaving the London catwalk behind, Temperley feels that showing stateside is crucial for the growth of her business.

New York maybe gaining another British based designer but it seems London is the place to party this season. Not forgetting her roots Temperley will be back in London to host her Midsummer’s Night party, along with many other shindigs from the likes of Alexander McQueen & Puma, Christopher Bailey, Patrick Cox and Donatella Versace.

Paul Smith Gets Saucy

Paul Smith’s not shy of a design opportunity – from radios to fragrance, even motorbikes. His latest collaboration saw him adding a stripe or two to that very British staple – HP Sauce. Available in Harrods this week, five hundred of the limited edition boxed sets sold out within hours. The shelves had to be constantly re-stocked and purchases limited to one bottle per person after one customer bought up 50 in one go. Each bottle is numbered and comes with its own certificate of authentication. Elegantly striped in varying shades of brown each bottle retails at £2.95, four times the price of a regular bottle. On sale in Harrods as part of the store’s ‘Truly British’ season 10% of the proceeds will go to the baby charity – Tommy’s.
