I have been a fan of his for years now. His style is unique, and very military/distressed inspired. But the cutting of the garments remains in tact successfully. Carey-Williams for me is the next best thing to Mcqueen. Both British, and both rough and rugged in their own ways, but the design capability is breathless.
Well unfortunately I was away for Profile 6 as I was at Premiere Vision in
I am so glad that ‘Romeo Pires’ won the womenswear award. We both have benefited from stocking in the LFF Boutique in Bluewater, and to see a fellow label win is damn right fab. I believe this is the beginnings of what will be a label to look out for and things can only get better! So well done guys. But you got lucky as ‘Emure’ wasn’t there. Just kidding, lol.
From what I have read Profile 6 was an event that truly showed the fashion world that this is a fantastic launching pad for new designers. With the likes of Isabella Blow, and Lisa B attending the event it was a night to remember. Profile will become the key event to attend to spot and nourish new design talent. With so many designers on board I cant even bare to imagine what an LFF Christmas party would be like. Think we would fill out Wembley! So bring on the next Profile event!!

Having Jenny Holloway as project manager is great. With the experience behind her and years of building up contacts Jenny can only bring the best out of all of us. So I know I keep on going on about it, but the LFF is there for you! If you want the industry to know about you, organisations like the LFF can only help and show your talents. So what you waiting for!
My aim for this week is to continue to work on my current collection and push and promote that effectively and acquiring new stockists. Having a fellow sibling in PR does help wonders. So another piece of advice is to truly utilise the people in your life that you know can help your business.
At the end of the day someone knows someone who is good friends with for example a celebrity or a publicist. To make your fashion label successful you have to be on the ball all the time. Stay ahead of your game and be aware of what your competition is doing and all you can do is strive to be better and remain unique and innovative. But also be prepared to use plan ‘b’ or plan ‘c’ if things go abit awol. I don’t need to prove anything to no-one. I love fashion, and all the inspirational things that come with it. Just be yourself!!
My recommended read of the week is Tom Ford’s personal book of photographs and biography. Truly I highly recommend this book for any budding fashionista!
Until next time, enjoy and have fun. xXx.
