LFW: Avsh Alom Gur

Avsh Alom Gur
Only a few seasons down the line and, former MA Central Saint Martins graduate, Avsh Alom Gur has already developed a staunch fashion following. Remaining true to his personal design philosophies, Gur combines global references such as Bedouin tribes or techniques from the Far East with his own fabric manipulations such as folds, drapes and gathers. This season Gur used vegetable dyes to create a rich palette of deep beetroot, violet, magenta and black offset by flashes of saffron and gold.
Abstract geometric shapes feature throughout and look particularly striking as a two-tone print. Other standout pieces included bright Italian cashmeres that envelope the body along with bias cut dresses in silk jersey. Avsh Alom Gur may be relatively new on the fashion circuit but his ideas are strong and his style is most definitely his own.
