A London based designer Julia has showcased at London Fashion Week and been featured in Vogue and Elle but she is soon set to leave London and head for the lifestyle of the rich and famous in LA.

Julia has no formal college education in fashion; she began many years ago as a stylist working with musicians, artists and on various advertising campaigns and creative projects. Then through experimentation and self teaching Julia established her own label under her name Julia Clancey.

Having been selected for the Centre of Fashion Enterprise scheme Julia was given an excellent kick start to her career as a fashion designer with financial support and guidance, but even with all this Julia knows she wouldn't be where she is today without sheer determination and hard work.

Describing her aesthetic as fun and glamorous, Julia says her clothes are ‘floaty and very feminine based on silk georgettes, chiffons and satins.' When designing she doesn't follow trends and feels this is why her dresses are so wearable; they are timeless classics that will never go out of fashion.

Over the years her clothes haven't gone unnoticed by celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Dita Von Teese, Mischa Barton and Cameron Diaz, and having already had a taste of the Oscars and the LA lifestyle Julia feels she can really make it big in LA.  Her dresses belong on red carpet starts and having received critical acclaim Julia knows LA is the place for her.

What can we expect in the future for the Julia Clancey label? Julia has already progressed onto accessories but further down the line we can expect to see clutch bags, big jewellery pieces, hand drapes, head dresses, lingerie and swimwear, and eventually interiors.

If her dresses are anything to go Julia will continue to make the world a prettier place.
